I developed a conversation with the recruiters from State Farm. I guess that's something that separated State Farm from the other companies. And that was the first hook for me.

“Summer Intern Experience / State Farm®" stays on screen throughout.

Bailey Anderson is seen seated in a living room. Text on screen identifies her as a computer science major from University of Florida.
(Speaker: Bailey Anderson)
I ended up at State Farm, I think just because of the way that they spoke to me and the attitude that they had, and the emphasis that they put on their culture and their people.

Caleb Sides is seen seated in an office. Text on screen identifies him as a Computer Science major at the University of Georgia.
(Speaker: Caleb Sides)
When we came here, I was petrified. I came as an intern with one of my friends. He got hired on with me. So we were just kind of clinging to each other.

Joshua Koh is seen seated in an office.
(Speaker: Joshua Koh)
They have been very emphatic on encouraging us to explore. And I have gotten some opportunity to do so.

Xavier Hatten is seen seated in an office. Text on screen identifies him as a Finance/Accounting major at Georgia State.
(Speaker: Xavier Hatten)
The networking here is awesome. Everybody knows everybody. Even though State Farm is a huge company, it's really a small company once you get in the door.

Andrew Oliveira is seen in front of a window. Text on screen identifies him as a Computer Science major at Georgia Tech.
(Speaker: Andrew Oliveira)
There's no other opportunity I've ever seen like there is at State Farm, to just reach out to random people you've never come in contact with, or departments that you just are interested in, and you're welcomed.

Caleb Sides is seen again.
(Speaker: Caleb Sides)
The personality and the culture of the place is really fun.

Abdul Wahab is seen in a hallway. Text on screen identifies him as a Computer Science major at Kessesaw State University.
(Speaker: Abdul Wahab)
I definitely think the work was meaningful. On some occasions, I would do shadowing just to see different departments and see what kind of work they do and how they do it.

Joshua Koh is seen again.
(Speaker: Joshua Koh)
I was eager to get on a project where I could dive into the code and work with actual syntax again. And State Farm absolutely provided that for me.

Xavier Hatten is seen again.
(Speaker: Xavier Hatten)
So with me having been an intern, and having a project that is really being implemented, I feel like it was a great success.

(Speaker: Andrew Oliveira)
Coming from previous experiences in which as an intern you felt like a very small person, people were just bossing you around, and you get these trivial tasks. I think at State Farm it was completely different. I got put on a team. Everyone on the team, they took a chance and the time to get to know me. They all threw me into big projects.

Bailey Anderson is seen again.
(Speaker: Bailey Anderson)
There's so much more at State Farm and so much more to experience than just sitting at your desk and looking at a computer, that you would really be missing out if you just concentrated on that and let the other opportunities pass you by.

A group of interns are interacting with each other in a social setting, a State Farm banner visible in the back.
(Speaker: Caleb Sides)
There's not that many of us. So there's enough to where we're able to contact and have that personal relationship with each other. And we had a great time. We all got to be real good friends.

Abdul Wahab is seen again.
(Speaker: Abdul Wahab)
We do stuff on the weekends as well, like bowling and you know, going to games and stuff like that. But then also after work we'd go out.
(IMAGE)
David Israwi is seen again, standing in front of the red background.
(Speaker: David Israwi)
Some of them, I'm sure I'll see them again. We're planning on doing different hackathons, on our different universities, together.

The interns are seen interacting again.
(Speaker: Andrew Oliveira)
We've basically hung out every single afternoon, for the most part. I consider some of them to be my best friends now. And it's just like, really cool to get that from an internship.
