BECOME AN EMPLOYEE
We do business more like a community than a company. Our different ideas, backgrounds, and approaches all come together to influence how we work with one another and help customers.
Our employees are challenged, guided, and empowered. As a community, we help one another grow professionally and personally. It’s part of who we are and have been since 1922.

Helping others isn’t just our day job, it’s how
we spend time out of the office too. We’re
known for how we give back to our
communities. Volunteering in schools and
around the neighborhood is just another trait
that makes working at State Farm®
meaningful.
Visit the Good Neighbor Stories to see how
we’re doing more in our communities as a way to celebrate our 100th anniversary.
In a small farm town in Central Illinois,
insurance salesman G.J. Mecherle didn’t
think insurance was priced fairly for farmers.
His boss didn’t agree with him, so G.J. left
and started his own insurance company.
In 1922, G.J. founded State Farm on the
principle of fairness. Long story, short: It took
off.
State Farm has held its own since then as the
number one insurer of auto and home in
the nation.
