Good morning, thank you for calling auto underwriting. I work in the personal lines auto area. I was a Spanish teacher for a number of years at the secondary level. I took an early retirement option. I decided I was ready for new challenges.

Before I come in to State Farm I was a title processor for a home refinance company. Part of the reason I came to State Farm is because of my family. I have an aunt, an uncle, a cousin and a brother that are all employees of State Farm. That tells me that State Farm's all about family.

We analyze the customer. The customer's driving habits, the type of vehicle that they drive, and evaluate it for the level of risk, so that we can properly and effectively price the premiums so it's fair to the customer.
(Speaker: Kayla)
There's three types of underwriting at State Farm. You have production, you have contacts and our underwriting services. I'm part of the production aspect, which we are the people who actually process all the applications.

Insurance is a business that is not going away, but it is developing, it is changing to adapt to the new technologies, the new cultures. And you've got to want to help people, and if you love helping people, this is the job.
